Prototype 1 Review (PC)

The Prototype Title Screen

  The Review (Contains Spoilers)

I know this game is recent, not old. But this game is one of those games that you can either play once or multiple times. One thing expected from this video game is the lack story depth. Hold on! I'm not done yet. This video game, in my opinion, is a mixture of Grand Theft Auto and games based on Marvel and DC superheroes. So it's basically Grand Theft Auto with superpowers, at least on the game play department. Story-wise, it's different.

Tales of Terror: Haunted Apartments Review (2004/5) (Spoiler Alert)

Reviewed by Nostalgic Reviewer

Horror movies in Asia is in a league of its own when compared to Hollywood Horror movies. Nonetheless, this doesn't guarantee that movies of this kind are scary all the time. Some can just be outright in scaring its audiences like The Ring or The Grudge and there are those who fail to deliver. So let's have a look at another horror movie from Japan and see if it can hold up with the rest.

The Review

The movie starts with a prologue the father is seen running towards the entrance of the apartment complex. The daughter is seen shouting for him to hurry up but before he can get to the entrance a pair of bloody hands just grabs him from behind, obstructing his view only to be followed by a rotting skull coming at him. As the title indicates, the setting for the story is at 35-year old apartment.

The Review

Perversion has a beginning and has an end. That is what Astral Projection is all about. I'm going on ahead and tell my review as I explain the important plot points of the story. A man named Jerrol is capable of performing Astral Projection. For those who don't know what this ability is, it's simply the ability of a person to separate his soul from his body but is also capable going back. Temporary death, so to speak.

Palatandaan (Signs)

Written by Maria Cecile Chavez
Illustrated by Danilo Pascual Ramirez

The Plot

A family living in a village is haunted by many signs in one evening. It starts during an evening vigil when sounds start to emanate from the surrounding environment. The grandmother takes these as a sign that something bad is going to happen and warns her grand children. Other signs they experience are lizards slapping the ceiling with their tails and the full moon. Sure enough, some odd looking creature sneaks from under the house but the eldest comes in to whip it with a stick broom. Assuming the creature has left, they decide to move out to another location. One of the children in the family decides to whistle at night. Naturally, the grandmother is there to stop the child from whistling, warning him of the negative effect of summoning bad spirits. The child then asks the grandmother to tell horror stories. The grandmother disagrees again.

Ghost Adventures Crew (TV Show) Review

The Review

We've seen dozens of shows on television about investigating paranormal phenomena. Many of these shows start off by a crew of investigators going to a location and interviewing the owners, caretakers, or witnesses to get an idea about the history as well as hotspots for haunting. Once all the necessary information has been gathered, the crew is left alone at night on location to investigate and gather evidence. The crew usually ask spirits questions and record them on digital recorders. Visual evidence is gathered via infrared or nightvision cameras or in some cases, full spectrum cameras as the ones used by Ghost Hunters International and Ghost Adventures. The investigation can turn out to be either boring, mysterious, or exciting or a mix between the three. When dawn breaks, the investigation stops and evidence is presented to the owners or caretakers of the sight to get their opinion.
